Dr Xi Liu is a queer, Chinese diaspora writer, Clinical Psychologist, and internationally recognised Schema Therapy practitioner and trainer. This is the third and last volume in their first series of zines.
The first chapter of this zine is a sample chapter from a book of interviews with fellow prominent schema therapists working around the world. The focus of this chapter is the Mistrust & Abuse schema* with Robin Spiro, licensed clinical social worker based in New Jersey.
The second chapter is short fiction. A queer migrant story at it's core, Fury is a Kind of Time Travel explores inherited trauma, memory, and the blurred boundaries of healing.
The last chapter is a reflection on our journey with the three zines: Noodles, Dumplings and now Chicken Feet. Plus, an extra interview to listen to with Mish Kumar Jonson, an EMDR Consultant and general badass.
Dr. Xi Liu is passionate about using creative, accessible work to demystify therapy and illuminate the private negotiations between identity, family and care.

* Mistrust/Abuse schema: The pervasive expectation that others will hurt, abuse, humiliate, cheat, lie, manipulate, or take advantage of you. This leads to hypervigilance for signs of betrayal and a tendency to interpret neutral or even kind actions as having hidden malicious intent.
